GECX Group is involved in setting up a White Sugar Plant in Malawi, Africa, having already gained the project approval from the Malawian Government.

We have managed to secure a holding of over 17,000 hectares of prime agricultural land in Malawi, with the objective of implementing a sugar plantation with on site sugar processing and refining facilities.

Our project management team was particularly keen to ensure the most efficient and environmentally advanced machinery was selected to refine the raw sugar cane into finished sugar and sugar related products.

Soil tests have been extremely encouraging indicating the possibility of two sugar cane crops a year.

The Malawian Government has indicated its enthusiasm for the project.

Once the sugar plant has been completed, it will have a production target of 1.2 million metric tonnes per year.
